We awoke to a beautiful day and very calm seas for our last day of diving in Islamorada Florida. Our last dive of the day was a shallow dive that allowed us to be underwater for 114 minutes!
Pat exiting the Giant Stride on one of our dives.
Interesting pattern on a giant brain coral.
We came across this lost crab trap and opened the lid. It seemed like these Trunk fish were trapped but exited quite slowly so maybe they were just using it for protection.
A train of trunk fish leaving the trap.
A closer shot of a jaw fish.
On Saturday we were invited to go Tarpon fishing with a friend of Ken’s (Dive boat Captain). The boat was just across the street from where we stayed so we walked over around 8:00 PM. We only went out a few hundred yards from shore and stayed there to fish for Tarpon. We had two bites during the evening but it was a very pleasant night spend with old and new friends. The boat is a 61 foot live aboard that does dive and fishing charters in and around the Islamorada area. We also learned of a 5-6 day Bahamas trip he does that sounds like fun.
