A short bike ride to the north of Canuck Cottage is a pier where the locals come to swim and fish. The short bike ride took us past a few newer constructed cottages , a cemetery and single runway airport. The dock would likely be deemed unsafe in Canada but as long as you take your time and watch where you step it’s all good!
Beer cozies compliments of our landlords at Canuck Cottage!
Great White Heron (I think). Had to google this one but apparently the Great White Heron is a color morph of the Great Blue Heron! His neck isn’t kinked like a Blue Heron’s normally is but I got too close and he flew off to this position.
Dock looking towards shore – it looks like a long rickety walk – yep! Go Slow!
From the dock looking North – towards the main center of Caye Caulker.
Pat fishing on our first attempt catching fish with a homemade fishing jig. We bought hooks, weight and fishing line from a local hardware store which we tied onto a stick.
One of the Stingrays that came around trying to steal our bait. It was definitely ‘hooks up’ when these guys came by. A little too big, don’t want to hurt them, and don’t know if/how they can be eaten!!
