Today is Wednesday; Pat and I decided to rest from diving today. The others have a wreck dive planned for the morning which sounds like a popular dive site.f
So far our routine has been to getting up and to the dive shop between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. From there we head out on the boat for our two morning dives. After the morning dives we head back to shore where the dive crew equips the divers with freshly filled air tanks and we have lunch. We have been ordering sandwiches for our lunch from a local store near our accommodations. This works out well as we only have 45 min. to one hour for our lunch before heading out for our two afternoon dives. After returning from our afternoon dives it is time to figure out what we will do for dinner and after that we are all tired and ready for some sleep and dream of our days adventures and what awaits us tomorrow. It’s a busy schedule but lots of high energy excitement, sun, surf, and good laughs after a day of fun!
Here are the highlights from our dives yesterday. Some of the images are small but you can click on them to get a bigger view.
Brownline arrow crab at the bottom of a four inch sponge on the ocean floor. The crab would be approximately one inch from tip to tip.
Cleaner shrimp sitting in a small hole on the ocean floor. This shrimp is about two inches in length and are the shrimp that clean other fish. Fish will stop near these shrimp with their mouths open and the cleaner shrimp will hop in the fishes mouths and go to work! There are many divers that take out their regulators out and lay still with your mouth open and shrimp will enter their mouths thinking the diver is a fish.
Dive master Jason holding a puffer fish
Here the dive master is holding the puffer fish up near Pat’s regulator!
Giant french angel fish. We’ve quite a few of these giant beauties of the ocean.
Nice size rock crab that we came across
Yeah! A beautiful turtle came over to visit us. Usually they are quite shy but this guy swam around us for about a minute before slowly swimming away. Very Cool!
